Appeals and Motions
Our team can help protect successful verdicts and reverse unfavorable outcomes on appeal, and we have done just that at all levels of the federal and state appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. We are committed to working closely with the trial team that litigated the case to craft the best possible arguments and maximize the likelihood of success. We also handle legal issues briefing and argument in the trial courts, and can be a valuable addition to the trial team when it comes to high-stakes motions practice and post-judgment briefing. Zimmer, Citron & Clarke can tackle any complicated legal issue that our clients confront, with past experience ranging from antitrust and patent litigation to civil rights and immigration.
Immigration and Civil Rights
We have extensive experience litigating immigration and civil rights issues in the U.S. Supreme Court and the courts of appeals. We have handled multiple immigration cases on the merits at the U.S. Supreme Court and have represented noncitizens and immigration advocacy groups in nearly every federal court of appeals and numerous district courts. We have also represented the NAACP, the ACLU, and other leading civil rights organizations in filing amicus briefs at the Supreme Court and courts of appeals on a wide range of civil rights issues. We care about these issues and want to help clients prevail in their cases and make good law.
Strategic Advising
The firm provides strategic advising services to clients and other law firms at all stages of litigation. We can help clients frame policies and make choices with an eye to avoiding litigation, draft and revise pleadings to present the strongest possible version of the case, navigate thorny legal issues in dispositive motions, and help spot issues at trial and post-trial to preserve the most promising arguments for appeal.
Case Analysis
The firm has significant experience working with investment firms and litigation funders to provide in-depth analysis and handicapping of high-stakes litigation at all levels of the state and federal courts and on a range of subject matters. Our work in this area draws on the three founding partners’ collective nine years of clerking for eleven judges, including four justices of the United States Supreme Court, four judges of the United States Courts of Appeals, and two federal district court judges.
